Superintendent's Office
Superintendent Bob Thibault
Bob was born and raised in Mansfield, MA and came to Vermont just prior to graduating high school. He attended the University of Vermont, graduating with a degree in history in 1993. He spent his first two years teaching at Missisquoi Valley Union HS in Swanton, VT before relocating to Leland and Gray, where he taught for ten years. In 2003 he earned his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from UVM. He began his administrative career as an assistant principal at Mohawk Trail Regional HS in Shelburne Falls, MA and received his first principalship at Springfield High School in Springfield, VT in 2009. There, he guided the school through significant improvement, which earned him the 2015 Vermont HS Principal of the Year. In 2016, he returned to L&G as principal and while there, served as a member of the Vermont Principals' Association executive committee, including a 2-year term as president of the VPA. During that time, Bob also completed the Center for Creative Leadership's Waddington Leadership Initiative - a joint endeavor with the VPA. After seven years at L&G, Bob was appointed the WCSU Superintendent in July 2023. He lives in Dummerston with his wife Hannah (also a school administrator). Together they have seven children ranging in age from middle school to adult.
