What's Happening in Wardsboro . . .


Mod Pod Collage
Grades: K - 2
Program Leader: Kristen Derry
In this program we will cut and craft collages and then keep them holding tight with Mod Podge!  The brilliance of Mod Podge will allow us to not only keep our collages sticking tight on paper but we will also collage other items such as picture frames, notebooks, and magnets.  Let's cut, craft, and collage!

Basketball: Skills & Drills
Grades: 2 - 4
Program Leader: Jessica Mowrey
Tired of sitting in class all day?  Just want to move your legs, arms, and entire body?  Well then this is a program for you!  In this program we will get our blood pumping by learning and practicing different basketball skills and drills.  But don't worry, it won't be all business, we will play lots of fun basketball games too!

The Way Things Work
Grades: 4 - 6
Program Leader: Ali Davis
Ever wonder how everyday objects work?  In this program you will find out.  We will focus on mechanics by building a marble run, small wooden derby cars, and even take apart household objects just to find out what makes them tick!  Team work and cooperation are a must, so come prepared to expand your mechanical knowledge and build!

Games Galore
Grades: K - 6

What game do you want to play today?  In this program we will play favorite games as well as learn new ones.  Bingo, charades, checkers, and Apples to Apples are just a few of the fun and hilarious games we can choose from.

Read, Learn and Create - Polar Animals
Grades: K - 3
Program Leader: Gwenn Melis
Each week we will read stories about polar animals, some of the stories will be fictional, but we will also learn how the polar bear, the penguin, the artic fox and seals survive in the Artic.  After we read we will do a craft that will enhance what we read that day.  There will be art projects using stencils, paper, and paint.  We'll also construct a diorama to help show our own special polar animal in it's habitat.  Please join for some fun!

Neige Sports
Grades: 3 - 6
Program Leader: Ali Davis
The neige, or snow, sports program combines two great programs into one!  First we will gear up and head outside to play in the snow with activities such as snowshoeing and snow capture the flag.  After we will return back inside to warm up with some chaud chocolat and learn some French basics.  Come celebrate the snow season and learn some Francais!

Math Olympiads
Grades: 4 - 6
Program Leader: Jeremy Schrauf
Students will explore an assortment of math concepts through the use of math puzzles and strategies in preparation of the Math Olympiads competition.


Puppet Theater
Grades: K - 2
Program Leader: Kristen Derry
Let's act!  Well, with puppets that is.  In this program we will craft puppets and build a stage to re-create a favorite fairy tale.  Everyone becomes a puppeteer in this program so come prepared for silly puppet voices and lots of fun!

Yay!  It's Snowing Up a Storm!
Grades: 3 - 6
Program Leader: Gwenn Melis
Did you know that Snowflake Bentley photographed over 5,000 snowflakes in his lifetime?  We will learn about some of the snowflakes that Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley was able to capture with his special camera and we will create some beautiful snowflakes to share with our families.  Each week we will make a different snowflake; there will be large snowflakes, 3D snowflakes, crystal snowflakes, and more!  I love to make snowflakes so please sign up and make some great creations with me!
